Lord, we pray against the sin of abortion and pray that it will be abolished in the nation.
We pray against the spirit of this age behind abortion which is self-centred and willing to sacrifice the child for convenience’s sake.
We recognise the sanctity of human life and that you create and form life in the womb.
We acknowledge that only you have the right to terminate life in the womb and that it is your decision alone.
We confess that abortion is the shedding of innocent blood, and is murder. The innocent blood of these children cries out to you for justice, and only you can avenge their blood.
We pray that people will repent of their immorality and that those thinking of having an abortion will change their minds.
We pray that our legislators will abolish abortion, but rather pass laws that discourage sexual liberalism.
We pray that the church will continue to be a voice and restraining force against abortion.
We pray that those who have committed the sin of abortion will be convicted by the Holy Spirit and that those who are truly repentant will be forgiven, and healed of the effects of abortion.
We pray that you will help your people fight against the sin of abortion.
