“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.
I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.”
(1 Timothy 2:1-8 KJV)
“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”
(Proverbs 14:34)
“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”
(Proverbs 29:2)
The church needs to pray for the United Kingdom:
• We need to pray that righteousness will reign
• We need to pray for our leaders, that we will have good leaders and that they will make wise and honourable decisions
• We need to pray for the fear of God in our nation again
• We need to pray for the spirit of evangelism to prevail
• We need to pray for godly families and moral fibre once again
• We need to pray that people will turn to the Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ again
• We need to pray against violence and lawlessness in our nation
• We need to pray for security in our nation
• We need to pray that godliness will be exalted once again
• We need to pray against the spirit of false religion
• We need to pray against abortion
• We need to pray against perversion
• We need to pray against alcohol and drug addiction
• We need to pray for a spirit of repentance to be poured out
• We need to pray for peace
The nation is not going in a good direction and there are many problems, but prayer can change things and God has commanded the church to pray!
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
(Ephesians 6:12)
