We are living in days that are very dangerous. If there ever was a time to get serious about serving God it is now. God commands all men everywhere to repent:
“And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”
(Acts 17:30-31 King James Version)
We are not called to accept sin but preach against sin. God will not be soft with unrepentant sinners but He will have mercy on repentant sinners.
“And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.”
(Luke 18:13)
God is calling sinners to repentance through His servants just as he did through Jesus Christ His Son:
“I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
(Luke 13:3)
Serious consequences for unrepentant sinners:
“And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.”
(Mark 9:43-44)
God will not accept anything less than repentance and it is a time of heavenly rejoicing when one sinner repents.
“Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”
(Luke 15:10)
That is one less soul for the devil and one more for the Kingdom of God.
Today many churches are compromised and becoming more accepting of sin. The church leaders do this to their peril, as they are being unfaithful watchmen and not doing the duty of warning of the consequences of sinful living. The blood of the un-warned will be on their hands:
“When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.”
(Ezekiel 3:18-19)
If those who are preaching the true message of repentance are being branded as unloving, God will bring to light those ones who are being truly unloving.
In many churches today, it is all based on love and acceptance no matter of the person’s spiritual condition. This is far from the Bible message of repentance from sin, and dying to self to make oneself ready for the Kingdom.
“Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”
(2 Corinthians 7:1)
The Holy Spirt brings conviction of sin, not reassurance in sin:
“And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.”
(John 16:8)
Christ
Christ is the only answer and provision for man’s sin. His death on the cross was sufficient to atone for man’s sin. Now, through faith in His blood, His redemptive work on the cross, faith in His resurrection, coupled with repentance from sin, man can be truly saved. Man, however must meet the conditions of true faith and repentance, and no church leader has any right to loosen the terms of the agreement.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
(Romans 10:9)
Jesus Christ has the power to set free from sin and cleanse from sin, so that the sinner need not continue any longer in sin.
“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”
(1John 3:8)
It is God’s will for humans to embrace Christ and His atonement on the cross, repent of their sin, and continue to live a victorious life free from sin and it’s demands. This is possible through the powerful blood of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit.
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”
(Romans 6:1-2)
Hell is real, and unrepentant sinners are going there.
“And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.”
(Luke 12:4-5)
This is why it is so important to repent and embrace Christ!
